Factory Stock Rules

l.             The word "STOCK' will mean unaltered and as originally factory produced and installed per year, make, and model.

 

COMPETING MODELS

2.            1960 or newer standard size American-made sedans (2 or 4door type). No convertibles, pickups, Jeeps, or station wagons. Minimum wheel base 108 inches. Engines and bodies. must be make-to-make of year and model.

 

ENGINE

3.            Factory engine and components only. Engine must be in stock position.

4.            One (1) stock type carburetor only.

5.            No after market electric fuel pumps or pressurized tanks. Factory electric fuel pump ok with kill switch

6.            Stock steel flywheel. No aluminum, cutting, or special over-the-counter types.

7.            Cast iron intake and exhaust manifolds only (no after market). No headers or speed equipment of any kind. Mufflers and tail pipe mandatory. Exhaust must exit behind driver. No cut off.

 

BODIES

8.            Must be complete and stock, including all sheet metal. Cars must remain stock in appearance. Destroyed panels must be replaced with stock parts. Fenders may be cut for tire clearances, not to exceed three (3) inches. Must run inner fenders.

9.                           Both front inner door panels way be cut out for door bars only. No other inner panels may be cut out.

10.          Grill may be replaced with wire screen.

11.          Removal of upholstery optional, except rear seats which must be removed.

12.          Stock dash and firewall must be retained. No excess holes in firewall.

13.          Drivers door must be chained, bolted, or welded shut. Subject to Technical Inspection.

 

FRAME

14.          STOCK. NO alterations, reinforcing, plating, etc..

 

ROLL BARS

15.          Front & rear roll over bar with 3 horizontal door bars MANDATORY. Call Tech Director if you have any questions.

 

BUMPERS

16.          All stock bumpers must be reinforced so as to be securely fastened to the vehicle. 'Reinforced' means to attach the bumper to the chassis so that it will not be knocked off if the car is impacted. Bumpers straps attached to the body to prevent hooking will be required.

 

TRANSMISSION

17.               Automatic transmissions optional.

18.               Transmission must be OEM for Vehicle.

 

REAR ENDS

19.          Must be stock. (Make-to-make). No floaters or quick changes.

20.          Gear ratio optional.

21.          Posi-traction optional. No lockers of any kind.

 

SUSPENSION

22           Must remain stock. No airbags suspensions.

23.          No cutting, heating, or modifying of any suspension or steering components.

24.          No weight jacks. No removable steering wheels.

 

BRAKES

25.          Factory stock. Hydraulic on all four "heels if original specs provided for hydraulic. Disc if specs provided for disc.

 

WHEELS

26.          Stock steel wheel not to exceed seven (7) inches. Chrome or white spoke OK, not to exceed seven (1) inches. No bleeder valves allowed.

 

TIRES

27.          Seven (7) inch maximum tread width on DOT casing or 225 width, minimum tire height 70 series.

28.          Must be street legal.

29.          No mud, snow tread, or nobbies.

38.          No racing tires.

 

RADIATOR

31.          Only one (l) radiator. Water only allowed in the radiator.

32.          Must mount in stock position.

33.          No holes may be cut in hood. Hood must close in stock position.

34.          Must have a one (1) gallon overflow can mounted in engine compartment.

 

ELECTRICAL

35.          Any 12 volt battery permitted. Battery may be moved to inside of vehicle, but must be enclosed in an approved metal) box, and securely fastened to floor.

36.          Ignition will remain stock. NO duals.

37.          No car to car or car to pit radio communications will be permitted.

 

GAS TANK

38.          Fuel cells are mandatory and must be mounted into trunk and secured by two metal straps in both directions. Metal firewall between trunk and driver compartment is mandatory. Filler neck and trunk only.

 

SAFETY EQUIPMENT

39.               Aluminum racing seats are required mounted to the cage. Racing harnesses are also required with a date stamp no more than three years old. Belt's must be fastened with no less than 3/8 inch bolts and have a safety cable.

40.          Fire extinguisher with gauge mounted in drivers reach, mandatory.

4l.           Helmets must meet Snell 2000 Testing standard.

42.          Eye protection, helmet, belts & long sleeve cotton shirts and long pants mandatory (full fire suit recommended) and must he worn at any time you are on the racing surface. Drivers-side window net's are mandatory.

 

GLASS

43.          All glass must be removed except front windshield.

44.               Windshield may be replaced with screen mesh (I/2 inch maximum covering all of opening.

 

IDENTIFICATION

45.          Car numbers must be on both sides and contrasting color, minimum eighteen (18) inches high and at least twelve (12l inches wide. Hood and deck lid must have three inch high numbers readable from back and front of car. Also 24 inch tall Day-Glo orange or yellow numbers must be on the roof for the car facing towards the front of the car

46.          Drivers full name must be on both edges of top. minimum three (3) inches high.

 

RULES & PROCEDURES

1.            Pit Stops in the pit area must be in an orderly fashion and with SAFETY in mind. FIFTEEN mph maximum in the pits.

2.            Cars will be inspected before and after the event.

3.            C.S.R.A may claim the winning car for $800.00 and reserves the right to claim any car that finishes in the top five For $800.00. Any other competitor way claim any car for $800.00 after C.E.R.A. has decided on their option. The following safety equipment may be removed from a claimed d car by the original owner: Fire extinguisher, harness, window net, seat & Fuel cell.

4.            These events are designed for simple, unmodified factory will be allowed to compete.

 

Interpretation of Rules

 

On misinterpretation of a rule, the official's interpretation shall be the official interpretation and will supersede any and all other possible interpretations. If you are in doubt on any rule, ask an official. The decision is to be in writing and given to the party requesting the decision of the interpretation. Where there is no specific rule to govern the occasion the official's decision will be final. . . IGNORANCE IS NO EXCUSE.

 

Any modification not covered in these rules will not be allowed unless approved by the Cajon Speedway Chief Steward.

 

We intend for all cars to be competing with each other. if you do something to your car that these rules have overlooked that we feel gives you an advantage or edge over other competitors, YOU will be required to change YOUR CAR.

"The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events, these rules shall govern the condition of all Cajon Speedway events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules.

No express or implied warranty of safety shall result from publication of, or compliance with these rules and/or regulations, they are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury, or death to participants, spectators, or others."
